Privacy
Your words stay yours.
Miru is built to be a private mirror. The commitments below are operational, not marketing — they are constraints we have engineered into the product.
What Miru never does
- — Miru does not sell your data. Ever.
- — Miru does not share your data with third parties for advertising.
- — Miru does not use your entries, conversations, or memories to train AI models.
- — Miru does not track you across other websites or apps.
Where your data lives
Your reflections are stored so you can access them across your devices. They are transmitted in transit over TLS. Reflections are generated via Anthropic’s Claude API, which does not retain API request or response data. Voice is generated via OpenAI’s TTS API (Nova) and is produced on demand, not stored.
What you can do, at any time
- — Export everything as TXT, PDF, or JSON.
- — Approve, dismiss, or retire memories from the Library tab.
- — Delete individual reflections, conversations, or your entire account.
Safety detection
If Miru detects signs of sustained distress or crisis, it will surface a gentle note with real resources — 988 Lifeline, SAMHSA, Crisis Text Line, and international directories. Miru is a mirror, not a therapist, but it knows when to point you toward one.
